La serpiente emplumada es una deidad ampliamente conocida en toda Mesoamérica. En el área maya recibió el nombre de Kukulcán y fue una de las deidades principales de Chichén Itzá. Se asociaba con el poder y el gobierno, así como con los cielos y la creación del universo.
