Ed. Pingret pintó 1851 Retrato de Mariano Arista, general y político mexicano (1802-1855), Presidente de la República de 1851 a 1853. Se le observa de pie, portando indumentaria militar con insignias y banda presidencial en el pecho. Detrás suyo se observa un grupo de militares y un hombre que lleva de la brida el caballo de Arista, más al fondo lo que parece ser el Castillo de Chapultepec sobre el cerro del mismo nombre.
