Emblema "La virtud es inmortal"

Esta pintura forma parte de un grupo de emblemas, los cuales debieron a su vez estar integradas a una obra mayor, posiblemente un biombo. Su iconografía corresponde al emblema número 81 de la obra Theatro moral de Otto Vaenius. Se ve a la Virtud representada por una mujer alada con casco en la cabeza, al Honor vestido como soldado romano y al sabio con túnica y manto. La observación que hace Vaenius es que la Virtud lleva a la inmortalidad al sabio, que va coronado con laureles y sube ligero, mientras que el soldado tiene que portar el peso de las armas.
