En este lienzo se observa al santo fundador del Instituto de la Visitación con la vestimenta de sacerdote y obispo que lo identifica. Su atributo personal es un corazón en llamas en alusión a su libro Tratado de amor a Dios. En esta pintura, en lugar del mencionado corazón, sus manos se cruzan sobre su pecho.
