En esta obra se escenifica la undécima estación del Vía Crucis. Juan Sánchez Salmerón realizo esta obra representando a Cristo sobre un montículo y situado a los demás personajes a un nivel mas bajo. así logro un lucimiento mayor del cuerpo lacerado y consiguió con esta composición un efectismo mayor, propio de las imágenes que integran un Vía Crucis.
