Cascabel

El cascabel de oro representa a un mamífero sentado, de cola pequeña, en actitud de llevarse a la boca un alimento, tal vez una mazorca de maíz. Por sus características, podría tratarse de un tepezcuintle o paca (Cuniculus paca), roedor bastante común en las selvas tropicales del área maya, que suele alimentarse de frutas y granos. En Yucatán es conocido como jaleb y resulta muy apreciado como pieza de caza.
