El prendimiento
Al reconocer a Cristo, el primero que se adelantó a echar mano de Él fue un criado de los sacerdotes llamado Malco. Narran los evangelistas san Mateo y san Juan, así como Sor María de Ágreda, que Pedro sacó su espada y de un golpe le cortó la oreja, pero Cristo se acercó, tomó la oreja y se la colocó nuevamente, reprendiendo a Pedro por utilizar la violencia. Después de este acontecimiento y al ver que los soldados ataron a Jesús con sogas y cadenas, todos los apóstoles, menos Juan, huyeron por miedo a tener el mismo destino. El Divino Preso es amarrado y encadenado por los soldados, al creer que milagrosamente puede liberarse, al considerarlo un hechicero. Sobresale la tez pálida de Cristo.
