En este pasaje Cristo instituyó el sacramento de la Eucaristía que consiste en la transformación simbólica del pan y del vino en el cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo respectivamente. Sobre la charola se observa el pan que se transformará en el cuerpo de Cristo; y la copa con el vino que se convertirá en su sangre. Durante la cena, Cristo le anunció a Pedro que esa misma noche lo negaría tres veces antes de que cantara el gallo. En el Evangelio de san Juan, Jesús menciona que a aquel que entregue el pan, será el apóstol traidor. El pintor no logra un efecto en la profundidad de la composición, sin embargo el brazo del Salvador se dirige hacia Judas.
