Plato policromo

La decoración interior de este plato, de fondo blanco con diseños negros de cuatro puntos y el centro, sugiere una representación de la concepción maya del mundo. El plano terrestre se imaginaba como una superficie cuadrangular, dividida en cuatro sectores, cuyos límites en sentido horizontal los marcaban los puntos extremos por donde surge y desaparece el Sol en su trayectoria anual. Los rumbos del universo se vinculan simbólicamente con colores, árboles, animales y semillas.
